Glossary

Thought Leadership

Publicly sharing original perspective and expertise in a way that builds authority in a specific field.

Also known as: Industry authority, Content leadership

Thought leadership means consistently publishing your point of view, whether through articles, LinkedIn posts, speaking, or media, so that your audience associates you with a specific area of expertise. It's built through repetition and a consistent angle, not a single viral post.

Example

A supply chain consultant who writes a weekly LinkedIn post breaking down a real logistics problem is building thought leadership in supply chain resilience.

Nuance

Thought leadership requires an actual point of view, not just summarizing industry news. Restating what everyone already agrees on rarely builds authority.
